About Orbit Cards
Orbit Cards makes images for your X profile from the people you actually talk with. One read of your account becomes a header of your closest people, a ring around your profile photo, a recap of your month and cards that thank the people who showed up for you. You download them and post them yourself.
Who makes Orbit Cards
Orbit Cards is made by the team behind Orbit, the X app for Mac. Orbit's companion, Orbit+, makes cards like these for Orbit users: My orbit cards, milestones, thank-you cards and headers drawn from the people you talk with.
Orbit Cards brings every one of those cards to the web, for anyone with an X account and nothing to install, and adds new ones such as the Mosaic header and the X Time Machine.
Why we built it
Most X headers are a stock photo or a slogan. The people you reply to every day, and who reply to you, are the most honest picture of who you are on X, and they rarely appear on your profile. Orbit Cards puts them there, and gives you a reason to thank them in public.
Every number on a card comes from your read. A ring that shows a follower club or a streak is only offered when your read backs it up, so nothing on a card is made up.
How we treat your X account
- Orbit Cards asks X for read-only access. It can't post, follow, like, send messages or change your profile, and it never tries to.
- Your X sign-in is deleted right after each read. On Monthly it's kept for the read on the 1st, and deleted when Monthly ends.
- We keep only what the cards need, from your three newest reads, and never sell it. Delete my data in Account removes your account and everything with it.
