A Twitter banner for founders that shows who you build with
A founder's banner is usually a product screenshot or a tagline. Both age fast, and neither tells a visitor much. What they want to know is whether real people use and talk about what you make. The people who reply to your launch posts, quote your updates and ask questions in your mentions are that proof, and they can be your banner.
Twitter is X now, and the banner is the X header: 1500×500 pixels, with your profile photo over the bottom-left corner.
Put your users and peers in the banner
Orbit Cards reads your last 30 days once and ranks people by replies, quotes, mentions and reposts in both directions, with replies and quotes counting double. For most founders that list is early users, other builders and investors who talk with you. Ticker lists them on the Orbit Exchange as stock tickers, all up. Departures spells their handles out on a flight board. Mosaic gives your ten closest people big tiles.
Say what you're doing with a ring
Your profile photo shows up next to every reply, so a ring around it travels further than the banner. Building in public and Shipping every week say how you work. Launching Dec 1 counts down the days with a small rocket. We're hiring runs “DM @you” all the way around your photo.
Keep it current
The people around a startup change month to month. Monthly reads your X again on the 1st, so the banner can show this month's users, and a monthly recap image gives you a ready post for your update thread. After a year, Then & now shows last year's circle next to this one.
What it doesn't do
Orbit Cards draws people, not logos or product shots, so it won't replace a brand banner if that's what you need. It only asks X for read access: it never posts, follows or changes your profile. You download the image and upload it yourself.
Questions
What size is a Twitter banner?
1500×500 pixels, the same as an X header. Keep important things out of the bottom-left, where your profile photo sits, and away from the top and bottom edges, which some phones crop.
Can I add my company logo?
Not on these designs: they're made from people's profile photos. Agency, for teams, adds your own colours and fonts; it isn't sold online, so contact us.
Does Orbit Cards post for me?
No. It reads your account once with read-only access. Share on X opens X's own post box with suggested text, and you decide whether to send it.
Can a team use it for several accounts?
Agency covers several X accounts. It isn't sold online yet: tell us what you need through the contact link on the pricing section.
Make yours from your X
